Hard’Ack Work Day

September 13, 2006

Hey fellow disc golfers. As many of you know, the organization that owns and maintains the Hard’Ack Recreation Area in St. Albans, Vermont has decided to install a 9 hole disc golf course on the property. The GMDGC has offered its help and support with course layout and design and with leading and providing some physical labor to help prepare the area. There is an opportunity this Sunday, September 17 at 10:30am to help spread the sport of disc golf in Vermont and also participate in creating a new course from the ground up. We are looking for anyone who is willing to help out to please show up.

The majority of the work will be clipping and clearing small brush to open up greens and tees as well as cutting some smaller branches and trees that are over fairway space. If you can come, please bring work gloves and lopping shears if you have them. Hard’ack is a fairly easy drive up I-89 to St. Albans. The driveway is off of Congress Street, see this map. Please ignore the address – it was just used to get the arrow in the right place. If you have any questions or if you know you are definitely going to show up, please get in touch with Pete Hess via email and let him know what’s up.

Hope to see Lots of you out there!
