Thank you Sponsors!

You may have noticed that in addition to our spiffy new website design there are a couple of new logos hanging out on the right under our sponshorship area. Well, that’s because this year we have three. Yes, you are counting correctly that is more than last year. Pretty awewsome, huh?

We owe them a huge thank you – so THANK YOU! To that end show your appreciation and make sure to support all three of these disc-golf loving, local businesses.  Thanks again – you guys are all kinds of awesome.

Fiddlehead Brewing Company is located on Route 7 in beautiful Shelburne (right across from the Shelburne Vineyard). And keep your eye’s peeled as they will be adding some pizza to their new digs soon. Their mission is a great one — to produce high quality beer, use as many local ingredients as we can, and create recipes with the true beer connoisseur in mind.

Matt Cohen has worked in the brewing industry for 14 years and is known industry wide as “Matty O.” He got his start in a small Vermont brew pub and eventually went on to become the head brewer of Vermont’s largest craft brewery. He’s now the head brewer and owner of Fiddlehead Brewing.

Matt’s philosophy is to brew well-balanced beers. He’s been known to use interesting and exotic ingredients in an attempt to craft the perfect pint. Oh and you might find another discgolfer or two behind the bar so stop in and get a growler (or four).  And don’t forget to check them out on Facebook and Twitter.

Three Penny Tap Room proudly offers one of Vermont’s finest and distinct draught selection in a room that is comfortable, engaging, and warm. Their 24 beer taps and over 10 bottles of beer are a constant rotating menu of lagers, stouts, IPA’s, Belgians, and everything in between. And let’s not forget about the food – incredibly delicious soups, sandwiches, salads and we would not be in Vermont if their weren’t some tasty cheese plates. I mean there is a reason the Boston Globe called them ‘A Craft Beer Mecca’.

Three Penny is in Downtown Montpelier (108 Main Street, across from the Library).  Their approach is pretty awesome one – beer is about way more than just drinking. For thousands of years, it’s played a central role in bringing people together. To that end, they support a variety of people, groups, and organizations (and a big thank you to Three Penny for supporting GMDGC). Remember to check them out on Facebook and Twitter.

What can we say about Base Camp Outfitters? Well, for starters they are our first ever website sponsor. That’s right. They are that cool. They are also the  largest retail store for disc golf in all Vermont with over 300 discs on display — Innova, Discraft, Gateway, Disc mania and Vibram — and a whole bunch of other great gear.

If you haven’t checked the course out well you are slacking and need to take care of that this season asap. And they have some fun and exciting improvements planned for the 2012 season —  installing 18 new paved tees pads with all tee boxes  measuring 4×12 and level. Not to mention some foot bridges and a few minor tweaks.  Yup – that is pretty great.  Now – I personally think they have the coolest baskets in the state. I mean they have hanging baskets – you can’t get much cooler than that.  And let’s look at basket placement  and the view isn’t too shabby either.

I mean really – they have everything – discgolf, skiing, hiking, kayaking. So go to Killington (2363 Route 4) and check them out. Make sure to mark your calendars for the Killington Classic on July 1st – it is one tourney not to miss. Oh and don’t forget to look them up on Facebook.

You can skip to the end and leave a response. Pinging is currently not allowed.
